CVE-2024-35989 is a flaw in the Linux kernel dmaengine idxd driver’s CPU-offline callback path during driver removal. When the idxd module is removed on a system with only one online CPU, perf context migration is invoked although no valid target CPU exists. The invalid migration target results in a NULL-pointer dereference in the perf context migration path and a kernel oops.
