The igb_set_fw_version function formats multiple firmware-version components into adapter->fw_version using snprintf with a 32-byte destination. The formatted representation can require up to 43 bytes, causing truncation of the stored firmware-version string. The upstream correction increases available storage and retains a snprintf fallback when dynamic allocation fails.
