CVE-2024-36902 is a NULL-pointer dereference in the Linux kernel IPv6 policy-routing implementation. The fib6_rule_action() path used ip6_dst_idev() without verifying whether it returned NULL. Under a route lookup path that yields no IPv6 destination device, subsequent dereference of that result can fault in kernel context. The upstream fix adds the required NULL handling in fib6_rule_action().
