CVE-2024-38109 is a server-side request forgery vulnerability in Microsoft Azure Health Bot, specifically in the Scenario Editor component. The flaw is caused by improper handling of HTTP responses containing redirects, allowing attacker-controlled requests to be followed in an unsafe manner. Available reporting indicates the issue can be exploited over the network and may allow an attacker to coerce the service into making unintended server-side requests, including requests that expose authentication material. The vulnerability has been described as enabling privilege elevation through SSRF, with reported abuse leading to acquisition of authentication tokens and unauthorized access within the Azure Health Bot environment.
