CVE-2024-41014 is an out-of-bounds read vulnerability in the Linux kernel XFS log-recovery path. The xlog_recover_process_data function did not verify that sufficient space remained within a log record before accessing the fixed-size members of an xlog_op_header. A crafted XFS filesystem image can contain manipulated log-operation layout and count values such that an operation header ends immediately before the declared record size, causing recovery code to read beyond the record boundary. The fix adds bounds checking before accessing the fixed header members.
