CVE-2024-43796 is an improper input-handling vulnerability in the Express.js redirect implementation. In Express versions earlier than 4.20.0, untrusted data supplied to response.redirect() can be interpreted in a manner that results in execution of attacker-controlled code in the client context, including when the application has attempted to sanitize the input. The affected Express 5 prerelease range includes 5.0.0-alpha.1 through versions before 5.0.0.
