CVE-2024-44990 is a NULL-pointer dereference vulnerability in the Linux kernel bonding subsystem. The bond_ipsec_offload_ok function dereferences the active slave interface pointer without first verifying that an active slave exists. Reaching this code path when no active slave is present can cause a kernel fault and disrupt system availability. The fix adds an active-slave existence check before dereferencing the pointer.
