CVE-2024-45336 is an information-disclosure flaw in Go's net/http HTTP client redirect handling. The client correctly removes sensitive request headers, such as Authorization, when a redirect crosses to a different domain. However, if that cross-domain redirect is followed by a subsequent redirect within the new domain, net/http can restore the sensitive headers and send them to the cross-domain destination. A redirect chain from an origin domain to a second domain and then to another location on that second domain can therefore disclose credentials or other sensitive header values to the second domain.
