CVE-2024-45497 is a flaw in the OpenShift Container Platform build process affecting openshift-api and OpenShift Controller Manager build functionality. A docker-build container can receive a writable hostPath mount to a worker node's kubelet image-pull credential file. The credentials are required to pull images from private registries; because the mount is not read-only, a developer-level attacker can alter or overwrite the node-level credential data through a build pod.
