CVE-2024-47962 is a stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability in Delta Electronics CNCSoft-G2. The flaw is caused by improper validation of the length of user-supplied data before it is copied into a fixed-length stack buffer. By supplying oversized input, an attacker can trigger memory corruption in the current process. Available reporting indicates exploitation may be achieved by manipulating an insider into opening a malicious page or file, after which arbitrary code can be executed in the context of the affected application process.
