CVE-2024-4841 is a path traversal vulnerability in parisneo/lollms-webui affecting versions from v9.6 through the latest reported vulnerable release. The flaw is attributed to insufficient sanitization of user-supplied input in the add_reference_to_local_mode function when processing the path parameter sent to the /add_reference_to_local_model endpoint. By supplying crafted path values, an attacker can traverse directories outside the intended scope and cause the application to reveal information about folders, subfolders, and files present on the host system.
