CVE-2024-52990 is a buffer underwrite vulnerability in Adobe Animate. Adobe Animate 2023 version 23.0.8 and earlier and Adobe Animate 2024 version 24.0.5 and earlier are affected. The flaw is classified as a Buffer Underwrite (Buffer Underflow), indicating that memory before an intended buffer boundary can be overwritten or otherwise corrupted during processing of attacker-controlled input. In the affected application, opening a specially crafted malicious file can trigger the memory corruption condition and allow arbitrary code execution in the security context of the current user.
