CVE-2024-53197 is an out-of-bounds access vulnerability in the Linux kernel ALSA USB-audio handling associated with Extigy and Mbox devices. A malicious or malformed USB device can report a bNumConfigurations value exceeding the initial configuration-array allocation performed by usb_get_configuration(). Subsequent configuration processing or teardown, including usb_destroy_configuration(), can access entries beyond the allocated dev->config array.
