CVE-2024-58136 is a regression of CVE-2024-4990 in Yii 2 versions before 2.0.52. Yii improperly handles behavior configurations defined through an __class array key, allowing attacker-controlled configuration data to reach an alternate behavior-attachment/object-instantiation path without the intended restrictions. In affected applications, a malicious JSON payload can abuse this behavior to instantiate a usable gadget and execute PHP contained in a server-side session file. The vulnerability was exploited in conjunction with Craft CMS CVE-2025-32432 during attacks observed from February through April 2025.
