CVE-2024-7097 is an incorrect authorization vulnerability affecting multiple WSO2 products. The flaw is in the SOAP admin service, which improperly permits creation of user accounts regardless of the configured self-registration settings. As a result, an unauthenticated or otherwise unauthorized actor can bypass intended registration controls and create new accounts even when self-service registration is disabled. The issue is fundamentally an authorization failure in the account creation path exposed by the SOAP administrative interface.
