CVE-2024-8441 is an uncontrolled search path vulnerability in the Ivanti Endpoint Manager (EPM) agent affecting versions before 2022 SU6 and before the 2024 September update. The flaw allows the agent to resolve and load executables or libraries from an unsafe search path, enabling a local attacker to influence which code is executed by a higher-privileged process. Under the documented conditions, a locally authenticated attacker who already has administrative privileges can exploit the issue to cause code execution in the context of the Windows SYSTEM account.
