CVE-2025-11198 is a missing authentication for critical function vulnerability in Juniper Networks Security Director Policy Enforcer. The flaw affects critical image-management functionality used to handle vSRX images for VMware NSX deployments. According to the provided content, exposed API endpoints responsible for managing vSRX firewall images do not properly enforce authentication, credential checks, session validation, or authorization controls. As a result, an unauthenticated remote attacker with network access to the Policy Enforcer management interface can upload or replace legitimate vSRX images with attacker-controlled malicious images. If a trusted administrator later initiates deployment, Policy Enforcer may deliver the malicious image to VMware NSX instead of the legitimate one, causing the attacker-controlled image to be deployed as a production firewall instance. The issue affects all versions of Security Director Policy Enforcer before 23.1R1 Hotpatch v3. Junos Space Security Director Insights is not affected.
