CVE-2025-13836 is a denial-of-service vulnerability in an HTTP client/library's response-reading behavior. When the client reads an HTTP response without an explicitly specified read amount, it defaults to using the server-supplied Content-Length value to determine how much data to read. Because Content-Length is attacker-controlled when communicating with a malicious or compromised server, this behavior can cause the client to allocate or read excessively large amounts of data into memory. The issue therefore allows a malicious server to trigger unbounded or insufficiently bounded memory consumption during response handling, potentially leading to out-of-memory conditions or process instability.
