CVE-2025-14179 is a SQL injection vulnerability in the PHP PDO Firebird driver affecting PHP 8.2.x before 8.2.31, 8.3.x before 8.3.31, 8.4.x before 8.4.21, and 8.5.x before 8.5.6. The flaw occurs when the pdo_firebird driver reparses and reconstructs SQL statements during prepare processing. A string token containing an embedded NUL byte is appended with strncat(), which truncates at the NUL byte. This can drop the terminating quote of a quoted string literal and cause subsequent SQL tokens to be interpreted as part of attacker-controlled input. As a result, values that were previously quoted with PDO::quote() can escape their intended string context when embedded into SQL statements and later passed through PDO::prepare(), enabling SQL injection.
