CVE-2025-21743 is an integer-overflow vulnerability in the Linux kernel USB networking ipheth driver’s Datagram Pointer Entry (DPE) length validation. The validation could overflow when adding the 16-bit datagram index and datagram length values if their sum exceeded U16_MAX. This could cause an invalid DPE to pass the bounds check and subsequently result in an out-of-bounds read. The correction restructures the comparison to avoid addition overflow; an existing check ensures the datagram index is smaller than the received USB request’s actual length.
