CVE-2025-21828 is a flaw in the Linux kernel mac80211 Wi-Fi subsystem's station cleanup path. In scenarios where a station is transitioned to the AUTHORIZED state before insertion, such as IBSS/ad-hoc operation, station insertion can fail and cause the station to be freed before it has been uploaded to the wireless driver. The cleanup logic could subsequently attempt to flush that non-uploaded station through the driver, despite the driver never having received it. The correction verifies that the station was uploaded to the driver before attempting the flush.
