CVE-2025-22839 is a privilege-escalation vulnerability in the Out of Band Management Service Module (OOB-MSM) for some Intel(R) Xeon(R) 6 Scalable processors, specifically reported for Birch Stream platform CPU IDs A06D1, A06E1, and A06F3. The flaw is described as insufficient granularity of access control within OOB-MSM, a hardware-level out-of-band management component. Because access controls are not sufficiently fine-grained, a privileged attacker with adjacent access may be able to perform actions beyond their intended authorization boundary and escalate privileges within the management context. The issue is tracked by Intel as INTEL-SA-01310.
