CVE-2025-23276 is a local privilege escalation vulnerability in the NVIDIA Installer for Windows. The issue is caused by improper access control over files or directories created or modified during installation or update, allowing resources to be accessible to external parties (CWE-552). Because the installer runs with elevated privileges, a local attacker may be able to manipulate these overly permissive files or directories during execution and influence privileged installer operations. Successful exploitation can result in privilege escalation and may also enable arbitrary code execution, information disclosure, data tampering, or denial of service.
