CVE-2025-24985 is a remote code execution vulnerability in the Windows Fast FAT File System Driver caused by an integer overflow or wraparound condition. Available reporting also associates the flaw with a resulting heap-based buffer overflow during processing of a specially crafted FAT-formatted virtual hard disk. By inducing the vulnerable driver to parse malicious filesystem metadata through a mounted VHD, an attacker can corrupt memory in kernel-context filesystem handling and achieve code execution on the target system.
