CVE-2025-27802 is a set of stored cross-site scripting vulnerabilities in Optimizely Episerver Content Management System (CMS). The issue affects Rich Text Editor (RTE) properties/text fields used in the CMS "Edit" section, where insufficient sanitization or output encoding allows an authenticated user to store arbitrary HTML/JavaScript payloads. When a user later visits the previewed page containing the malicious content, the injected script executes in that user's browser within the application context. The vulnerability requires the attacker to have at least the "WebEditor" role. Affected versions are EPiServer.CMS.Core before 11.21.4 with EPiServer.CMS.UI before 11.37.5 in the 11.x branch, and EPiServer.CMS.Core before 12.22.1 with EPiServer.CMS.UI before 11.37.3 in the 12.x branch.
