CVE-2025-30238 is a high-severity privilege escalation vulnerability affecting multiple TP-Link Aginet devices. The flaw is caused by insufficient authorization validation in user-management functionality, allowing an authenticated user with low privileges to invoke operations intended for higher-privileged roles. As a result, authorization boundaries between standard and administrative users are not correctly enforced. Successful exploitation can enable unauthorized administrative actions such as creating privileged accounts and modifying critical device configuration settings, potentially leading to broader compromise of the affected router, mesh node, PON device, or xDSL modem.
