CVE-2025-32713 is a local elevation-of-privilege vulnerability in the Windows Common Log File System (CLFS) driver. The flaw is a heap/pool-based buffer overflow in the CLFS code path traced to CClfsLogFcbPhysical::ReadLogBlock(). According to the provided analysis, when CLFS reads a log block from a volume whose logical sector size is greater than 512 bytes, and the context mode is not ClfsContextForward, the driver can use the container logical sector size as the copy length even when the destination buffer is smaller. This results in CcCopyRead copying more data than fits in the allocated pool buffer, causing user-controlled log data to overflow into adjacent kernel memory. Researchers reported that the vulnerable path can be reached directly via DeviceIoControl rather than only through the normal ReadLogRecord marshalling flow, and that exploitation was confirmed on Windows 11 Insider Preview Canary build 27774.1000 with CLFS HMAC mitigation enabled.
