CVE-2025-37738 is a use-after-free vulnerability in the Linux kernel ext4 filesystem extended-attribute cleanup path. During inode deletion or eviction, ext4_xattr_inode_dec_ref_all() could continue processing extended-attribute entries beyond the valid end entry. This resulted in an invalid read of freed slab memory, as detected by KASAN, through the ext4_xattr_delete_inode() and ext4_evict_inode() call path. The fix makes ext4 ignore extended-attribute entries past the end boundary.
