CVE-2025-38022 is a race-condition-driven slab use-after-free read in the Linux kernel RDMA/core device-registration path. ib_device_rename() changes an RDMA device name while holding its lock, whereas kobject_uevent() can concurrently access that name without equivalent lock protection during ib_register_device(). The unsynchronized access can dereference device-name storage after it has been freed. The upstream fix protects device-name access in kobject_uevent() with the appropriate lock.
