CVE-2025-38052 is a slab use-after-free read in the Linux kernel TIPC networking subsystem, in the asynchronous AEAD encryption completion handler tipc_aead_encrypt_done. During network-namespace teardown, TIPC crypto transmit state can be freed while an encryption request deferred to the cryptd worker remains pending. When the worker completes the request, the completion handler can dereference the freed crypto state. The upstream correction retains a network-namespace reference before encryption, ensuring that the associated TIPC crypto state remains valid until asynchronous encryption processing has completed.
