CVE-2025-38112 is a Linux kernel networking vulnerability caused by a time-of-check time-of-use race in sk_is_readable(). When a socket resides in a sockmap, sk->sk_prot->sock_is_readable is a valid function pointer. After the last sk_psock_put(), typically when the socket is removed from the sockmap, sk->sk_prot is restored and sk->sk_prot->sock_is_readable becomes NULL. If sk_is_readable() checks the pointer and then later reloads sk->sk_prot, the value can change between the check and use, creating a race that can result in a NULL pointer dereference in kernel context.
