CVE-2025-38350 is a use-after-free vulnerability in the Linux kernel traffic-control scheduler. Certain classful queueing disciplines can invoke a class dequeue handler while processing an enqueue operation. This can unexpectedly empty a child queueing discipline, cause queue-length notification logic to mark an in-flight class passive, and leave an ancestor scheduler holding a stale class pointer. Subsequent reactivation of the class can dereference freed memory. The corrective change ensures that backlog-reduction handling notifies the parent whenever a child queueing discipline becomes empty; repeated notifications are safe because the relevant classful scheduler notification handlers are idempotent.
