CVE-2025-38463 is an integer-overflow flaw in the Linux kernel TCP transmit path's calculation of remaining space in a socket buffer. The calculation subtracts the unsigned skb length from a signed size goal. C integer-promotion rules convert the size goal to unsigned before subtraction; where the size goal is smaller than the skb length, the result wraps to a large unsigned value and is then zero-extended into the signed copy variable. Subsequent TCP memory-accounting logic can use this unexpectedly large value to increase sk_forward_alloc toward its maximum, after which further allocations can wrap the accounting value negative. The fix corrects the calculation's signedness so that negative remaining-space results are handled correctly.
