CVE-2025-38566 is a Linux kernel SunRPC vulnerability affecting server-side TLS-alert processing for NFS over TLS. The tls_alert_recv() path incorrectly assumed that TLS alert data remained available through the message iterator's kvec. kTLS separates non-data TLS records between a control-message buffer, containing record metadata, and a message payload buffer, containing alert payload data. Message copying can advance the iterator and its kvec pointer before tls_alert_recv() processes the alert. The corrected implementation reworks control-message handling with sock_recvmsg() and restores the message iterator before calling tls_alert_recv().
