CVE-2025-39933 is an input-validation vulnerability in the Linux kernel SMB client. The receive-completion processing in recv_done did not verify the SMB response fields data_offset, data_length, and remaining_data_length before using them. A malicious or malformed SMB server response could therefore cause incorrect parsing of received data. The fix adds validation of all three fields, following the approach used in related SMB server-side fixes.
