CVE-2025-39971 is an out-of-bounds write vulnerability in the Linux kernel Intel i40e network driver. In i40e_vc_config_queues_msg(), the driver iterates over vf->ch[idx] without adequately validating that idx is within the range of active or initialized traffic classes. A malformed configuration-queues message can therefore cause an invalid array access. The upstream fix validates idx before accessing the traffic-class channel entry.
