CVE-2025-39973 is an input-validation vulnerability in the Linux kernel Intel i40e Ethernet driver. The driver accepted a ring_len value supplied by a virtual function and assigned it to the hardware memory context without validating its upper bound or required descriptor alignment. Invalid transmit and receive queue lengths could therefore be configured. The fix limits queue lengths to the hardware-supported descriptor range and requires transmit rings to be divisible by 8 and receive rings to be divisible by 32.
