CVE-2025-40552 is a critical authentication-bypass vulnerability in SolarWinds Web Help Desk (WHD). The flaw permits a remote unauthenticated actor to directly invoke Java WebObjects components, actions, and methods while bypassing the framework's expected hierarchical execution and authentication checks. Consequently, functionality intended to be available only after authentication can be accessed without valid credentials. Affected releases include WHD 12.8.8 Hotfix 1 and earlier; the issue is fixed in WHD 2026.1.
