CVE-2025-47729 affects the TeleMessage archiving backend through 2025-05-05. According to the provided description, the backend stores cleartext copies of messages from users of the TM SGNL application, also referred to as Archive Signal. This behavior is inconsistent with TeleMessage documentation claiming "End-to-End encryption from the mobile phone through to the corporate archive." The issue is therefore not described as a cryptographic break in transit, but as backend handling and retention of message content in plaintext within the archive environment. The vulnerability was reportedly exploited in the wild in May 2025.
