CVE-2025-49217 is a critical insecure deserialization vulnerability in Trend Micro Endpoint Encryption PolicyServer. The flaw is associated with insufficient validation of attacker-controlled input in the ValidateToken method, allowing specially crafted serialized data to be processed unsafely. Because the vulnerable code path is reachable remotely and prior to authentication, an unauthenticated attacker can trigger deserialization of malicious input over the network and achieve remote code execution on affected installations. The issue is described as similar to CVE-2025-49213, but occurring in a different method. Affected versions include Trend Micro Endpoint Encryption PolicyServer 6.0 builds earlier than 6.0.0.4013.
