CVE-2025-49457 is a critical untrusted search path vulnerability affecting Zoom Clients for Windows and related Windows-based Zoom products. The flaw arises from improper DLL search path handling: the application loads certain libraries without enforcing absolute paths, allowing Windows to resolve and load a malicious DLL from a searched location before the legitimate library. An attacker who can place a crafted DLL in a location reachable through the application's search order, including via network-accessible locations as described, may cause the Zoom process to load attacker-controlled code. Successful exploitation can result in execution of arbitrary code in the context of the Zoom client and enable local privilege escalation and broader compromise of the affected Windows system.

A critical vulnerability in Zoom Clients for Windows that allows an unauthenticated attacker to achieve privilege escalation via network access.
A critical privilege escalation vulnerability in Zoom for Windows (CVE-2025-49457) that allows attackers to load malicious DLLs, escalate privileges, steal sensitive data, and move laterally within affected systems. The flaw is due to Zoom not specifying absolute DLL paths, enabling DLL search order hijacking.
A critical untrusted search path / DLL hijacking vulnerability in Zoom Clients for Windows that may allow unauthenticated network-based privilege escalation and arbitrary code execution.
An untrusted search path vulnerability in Zoom Clients for Windows caused by improper handling of DLL search paths, which can allow malicious DLL loading and code execution in the context of the Zoom client, leading to privilege escalation.
