CVE-2025-49526 is a critical out-of-bounds write vulnerability in Adobe Illustrator affecting versions 28.7.6, 29.5.1, and earlier. The flaw can be triggered when Illustrator processes a maliciously crafted file, causing memory corruption through a write outside the bounds of an allocated buffer. Successful exploitation may result in arbitrary code execution in the context of the current user. The issue is associated with opening attacker-controlled content and is one of multiple memory-corruption vulnerabilities addressed in Adobe Illustrator security updates.

Until patching is completed, reduce exposure by preventing users from opening untrusted or unsolicited Illustrator files, especially files received from unknown sources. Limit execution under high-privilege accounts and apply least-privilege controls so that any resulting code execution occurs with minimal permissions.

Apply Adobe's security update for Illustrator. Fixed versions include Illustrator 2025 version 29.6 and later, and Illustrator 2024 version 28.7.8 and later. Update affected Windows and macOS installations through the standard Adobe update channels, including the Creative Cloud desktop application where applicable.
