CVE-2025-49535 is a critical XML External Entity (XXE) vulnerability in Adobe ColdFusion affecting ColdFusion 2025.2, 2023.14, 2021.20, and earlier releases in those branches. The flaw is caused by improper restriction of XML external entity references, allowing attacker-controlled XML input to be processed in a way that can resolve external entities. The issue is described as enabling a security feature bypass, with the vulnerable component restricted to internal IP addresses. Successful exploitation can allow a remote, unauthenticated attacker to read arbitrary files from the underlying file system and may also lead to denial of service. The vulnerability does not require user interaction and has changed scope.
