An authenticated attacker can exploit a timing flaw in the driver by winning a race between validation and subsequent use of a resource or state, resulting in improper handling within a privileged kernel component. Microsoft assessed the issue as more likely to be exploited. Public reporting also indicates that a proof-of-concept exploit was released after disclosure.
