CVE-2025-55754 is an improper neutralization of escape, meta, or control sequences vulnerability in Apache Tomcat. Tomcat did not properly escape ANSI escape sequences in log messages, allowing attacker-controlled input from a specially crafted URL to be written to logs in a form that could be interpreted by an ANSI-capable console. When Tomcat was run in an interactive console environment, particularly on Windows systems whose consoles supported ANSI escape sequences, this could allow terminal control sequence injection through logged request data. The issue could enable manipulation of console display behavior and clipboard interaction, creating conditions for social engineering of an administrator. Affected versions include Apache Tomcat 11.0.0-M1 through 11.0.10, 10.1.0-M1 through 10.1.44, 9.0.40 through 9.0.108, and known affected end-of-life 8.5.x releases through 8.5.100.
