CVE-2025-58057 is an uncontrolled resource-allocation vulnerability in Netty decompression decoders, notably BrotliDecoder. When processing specially crafted compressed input, BrotliDecoder.decompress can repeatedly invoke the decompression pull operation without a bound, producing output in 64 KiB increments. The resulting byte buffers are retained in the decoder output list and remain reachable, allowing allocations to accumulate until the JVM exhausts available memory. Affected releases include netty-codec-compression 4.1.124.Final and earlier and netty-codec 4.2.4.Final and earlier.
