CVE-2025-59375 is a denial-of-service vulnerability in libexpat, the XML parsing library used by Expat. In versions prior to 2.7.2, a small specially crafted XML document can trigger disproportionately large dynamic memory allocations during parsing. The flaw stems from insufficient limits and checks around resource allocation in affected parsing code paths, allowing attacker-controlled input to drive excessive heap growth far beyond what would be expected from the size of the submitted document. Because libexpat is widely embedded in operating systems, applications, frameworks, and appliances, the issue can propagate to many downstream products that parse untrusted XML through vulnerable libexpat builds.
