CVE-2025-61666 is an unauthenticated local file inclusion/path traversal vulnerability affecting Traccar on Windows. According to the provided advisory text, default Windows installations of Traccar 6.1 through 6.8.1 are vulnerable by default, while versions 5.8 through 6.0 are vulnerable only in non-default installations where the configuration entry <entry key='web.override'>./override</entry> is enabled. The issue can be triggered via crafted HTTP GET requests using path traversal sequences to retrieve arbitrary local files from the underlying Windows filesystem. The provided verification example shows successful retrieval of Program Files\traccar\conf\traccar.xml, returning HTTP 200 OK with application/xml content. Exposed data in the example included database configuration values such as database.driver, database.url, database.user, and database.password. The vulnerable code was removed in Traccar 6.9.0.
