CVE-2025-6176 is a denial-of-service vulnerability in Scrapy affecting versions up to 2.13.2. The flaw is in handling Brotli-compressed HTTP responses: Scrapy's protection against decompression bombs does not correctly mitigate the Brotli variant. Because Brotli can produce extremely large output from highly compressed zero-filled input, a malicious remote server can return a crafted Brotli response that expands to excessive size during decompression. This can drive very high memory consumption in the client process and terminate or crash Scrapy-based applications, particularly on systems with less than roughly 80 GB of available memory.
