CVE-2025-61787 is a command injection vulnerability in the Deno JavaScript, TypeScript, and WebAssembly runtime on Windows. It affects Deno versions prior to 2.5.3 and 2.2.15 when batch files such as .bat or .cmd are executed. The issue arises from Windows process creation semantics: CreateProcess() implicitly invokes cmd.exe when launching batch files, even if the caller does not explicitly include cmd.exe in the command line. As a result, arguments passed to a batch file may be interpreted by the Windows command processor, enabling improper neutralization of command-special characters and command-line injection. The vulnerability is classified as CWE-77.
